Philanthropy at the Wine Forum

Philanthropy is at the heart of the Wine Forum. Indeed, members of the Wine Forum are invited to join on the basis of three criteria:

  1. They are global leaders in their field
  2. They love fine wine
  3. They are dedicated philanthropists

The link between wine and philanthropy strongly binds all our members. Indeed, the wine industry has long been associated with philanthropic activities such as the Hospices de Beaune, the Auction Napa Valley, the Vintner Ball, Wine Relief and various other worldwide charity wine auctions. Wine Forum members support many of these events. Moreover, through their own organisations or other institutions, members support important causes by creating effective networks, directing resources, providing mentorship and assisting financially.

To encourage our members to do even more, the Wine Forum has created a Wine Buying Club. Our Club organises allocations of the rarest and most sought after wines directly from producers and we pass these to our members at a 5% margin to cover the costs of operations. However, to enjoy this benefit, the Wine Forum requires participants to donate at least the same amount of money they spend on wine to a charity of their choosing. Thus, members gain access to their favourite wines at the most attractive prices while supporting their favourite causes. Starting in 2012 we will produce an annual report highlighting which charities have benefited from our members' contributions.
